onpage problem

Hi

I have made a site with mousover navigation.  I have one gif for onpage.  I
have just changed the layout to a frame site.  I can't for the life of me
figure out how to tell a gif in one frame that its link is in the other
frame so that it will change to the onpage gif.
Perhaps it can't be done.
If anyone knows could they email me as I am on the digest  thingamajig.
