JavaScript statsby "Duane Ruth-Heffelbower" <duanerh(at)indosat.net.id> |

I use thecounter.com and its JavaScript-based counter. My both my VOMA and RJP reports show 1% disabled JavaScript and 6% unknown. These get mostly academic, government and NGO users. Since I'm on a slow connection I can see that what probably happens is the JavaScript not completing before the viewer moves on. This registers as JavaScript disabled or JavaScript status unknown. My nav pops right up and viewers use it to leave the home page before the counter is finished. This would be more common on pages with more graphics than my austere pages. On a different site where there is lots of info on the home page, rather than it being a gateway, I get 1% disabled and 3% unknown, which would support my theory that the no JavaScript stats go down if the counter has time to function. __________________________________________________ Duane Ruth-Heffelbower, Webmaster www.voma.org, www.vorp.org www.fresno.edu/pacs, www.RestorativeJusticeProject.org www.EmpoweringForReconciliation.org www.ukdw.ac.id/lpip/pspp
