I've been using TVCNet(.com) for several years, now, Karen. FTP, SSH< PHP,
MySQL, 200Mb disk, 6Gb transfer, Free secure server, etc. I'll send you the
prices off-list, but you can write to jim(at)tvcnet.com for more info. Great
service, reseller-oriented. I have dozens of clients with them, whihc I
would not do if I weren't happy.

I need some opinions. I'm still a reseller for a certain small hosting
company, but I'm trying to decide whether to go elsewhere. Right now, I
don't have much control over anything beyond setting up e-mails, error
pages, and certain permissions, once the site itself is set up by the
administrator. I can't set sites up for myself "from scratch", so to speak,
so I have to wait for her to do it. She charges $59 per site for set-up,
which, of course, I pass on to my customers. I also get charged a flat rate
per so many megs that I use, and an extra $3 per month for secure server
privileges for each site. I understand completely all these charges.I'm
talking turkey with her about setting up an administrative panel so I can
have much more control over setting up the sites-basically, doing it myself.
I was hoping, in essence, to have more control over the set-up costs I
passed on to customers. Another reason is to be able to give some "good
customers" more of a deal, like customers who establish more than one site
with me. I'd like to be able to waive that second set-up cost. Also, I'm
getting involved in search engine marketing, which involves setting up extra
sites for extra domains, and setting up several sites with the package deal
I offer would either mean I'd have to really hike up my costs, or take a
loss. Anyway, she told me that, even though I would be setting up the sites
myself in this arrangment, she would still charge me the set-up costs. Is
that common? She, of course, would be losing the money for set-up, but she
wouldn't be doing the work. What's standard on something like this?
