Sorry to say they use it to grab password files mostly for fun. Which is why we should periodically change passwords. I am sure there are many other companies the hackers poke and prod. We have had a server at SkynetWeb for a while and it I keep a very close watch on it. Mostly I get folks attempting an anonymous FTP. Once in a while I get someone sniffing ports or a clumsy NT attack on our Cobalt RAQ (running Linux). Any server is open to attack and there are many bad folk wanting to break into them. Its up to us to install the appropriate security packages and keep the patches up to date. Paul Wilson webguroo(at)tampabay.rr.com --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
