Drop Down Menus

Hello,

At present I am working for what one could call a launch customer. My 
customer requested drop down menus on the Website that I am making.

What I understand by this is the following: buttons which, when one clicks 
on them or lets the cursor hover on them, sprout a list below. This list 
consists of hyperlinks which can act in one of the two following ways:

1) when clicking on them a new Webpage appears

2) when clicking on them or letting the cursor hover on them they in turn 
sprout a list of hyperlinks.

What can I do to provide my Website with this feature? All help will be 
highly appreciated.
