I have a friend with a cgi/perl problem, and I don't know a thing about that.
Would one of you maybe have a solution for him? We would both appreciate
any help.

Okay, hopefully one of y'all will be able to tell me where I'm screwing up.
I'm attempting to use the textcounter counter.pl script from Matt's Script
Archive (www.worldwidemart.com/scripts). Here is how I currently have it
set up:
The main.shtml (the main pane of the initial frame of the index.html
frameset page) has the .shtml ending so it'll use server side includes. On
this page, I have the following entries where I want the counter:
<!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/counter.pl"-->
<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/counter.pl"-->
The counter script is in my cgi-bin directory, and the file permissions are
set to 755 on the counter. Within the script itself, the following
variables are set:
$data_dir = "/data";
@valid_uri = ('/');
$show_link = "http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/";
$auto_create = "1";
$show_date = "1";
$lock_sec = "3";
$pad_size = "5";
I double-checked, and it's pointed to the right perl directory, so it's not
a matter of it not being able to find perl in order to function. I've tried
renaming the file to .cgi, but that didn't do anything either. I keep
getting the following as an output for the script:
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
I've even gone so far as to rename the frameset index.html page to
index.shtml, to no avail. I know Server Side Includes are on on the box
(double-checked with the hosting company on that today).
Any suggestions?

Thanks mucho in advance
