Okay, first, forgive the philosophical, pseudo-off-topic turn this mail will
take. It's been a long day.

I wonder what the world would be like if we could all carry around and apply
our own, personal Cascading Style Sheet to how we, as humans, look. My CSS
might make me look like Mel Gibson. Someone else's might make her look like
Marilyn Monroe. (Of course, I could always override her CSS with one that
makes her look like Jennifer Lopez instead.)

But what would happen if, as Rebecca Pederson asks, we encountered someone
with all his or her style sheets turned off?

Why, we'd be left looking like the people we really are.

The moral of this story: It's content that counts. Beauty is only skin deep.

that's where the term "degrading gracefully" always pops up.  if you view
your page without the styles added, it should still look like your page.

but what about all the people who might have CSS turned off?  I
discovered by accident mine was turned off a few days ago.  I didn't
even know that option was there!
