It's a piece of cake to write a search tool in any database-capable
scripting language, like PHP, ASP, SSJavascript,...

Hi, All.

I belong to a job networking group that matches candidates who want to
volunteer at community organizations or intern to gain real-world
experience to organizations that would supply the positions.

I'm part of a project to set up a web site for this group, including the
ability to post and maintain resumes or positions and search for
matching candidates or positions.  We are very early in the process.

This is basically like an employment agency.  I've heard of a package
called DTSEARCH, which does what we want, but the web version costs
<nopricequotes>as-high-as-you-can-go-in-the-three-figures-range</nopricequot
es>,
which is a bit much for a nonprofit organization.

I've seen postings here about products that search web sites.  We need
something that can search a database.  Can anyone suggest other
products?  Are there hosts that provide search capability on a database?
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.  TIA.
