There's always people doing unethical things.  For instance, there's been a
story in a magazine here lately about people that take care of funerals who
pay sometimes over 500$ to be able to take a corpse with them from
hospitals, nuns,...  They even have informants to find people who're dying,
then as soons as he's dead they step in contacting the family to take care
of the funeral.

So compared to Nathan's way of looking for potential customers...

And about spam, I would consider email spam when it's used for anything else
than what it's for.  If I put my email address online on a site about
webdesign and someone contacts me personally about his new program that
checks dead links, I would maybe even appreciate the mail.  If they use a
spider that grabs my email address and send me information about a CD that
contains 5 million email addresses to use for mailings, now that's pure
spam.

All spam is unsollicited, but you can't switch those terms.  80% of the
emails I get is unsollicited, because I didn't ask them to send it.

However, sometimes spam doesn't bother me, while other times, I could
consider a sollicited email as spam. I have a site with a lot of picture
galleries, and love putting all pictures online that are sent to me.
However, if someone finds my email address on the site, reads about the
possibility to send his own pictures and goes sending me 20 of them
1600x1200 pics in uncompressed .bmp format, I sometimes think twice.
