it's been an interesting topic so far.  Many useful answers, and though many
contradict, I can see what ColdFusion does now.

I think indeed it all boils down to how experienced you are.  However, in my
personal case where I lost a job to a competitor, I have come to know that
he did the job so cheap mainly because

- he's a big player in the market and
- he can afford to do something for prestige rather then money

However, we're talking about a large-scale application for a university
where ALL students and ALL personel will have their online duties to fulfill
once in a while.  Reading this topic has revealed to me there's a big chance
it's going down a few times with their 400MHz SCPU win2k server.

deteriorated into a "my dad can beat your dad" macho contest that resembles 
the inane Mac/PC wars that we've mercifully outgrown recently.  Or so I'd
