I've been doing ASP only since februari, and already had a number of
projects with it, mainly developing interfaces and backends for websites +
content management features, password protected areas,...

I must say I've grown very fond of it.

But... I think it's a matter of the way you work.  I always though pure
programming people went into the tech stuff too much without really being so
HTML-friendly.  In ASP, you can do nice a clean work too.  So I guess
generally ColdFusion is cleaner because the people that use it want to deal
with the design more, and keep things as tidy as possible, while the ASP
'programmers' are more programmers and want to deliver code that looks very
skillfully programmed.

that sounds *so* much like a couple people i know who have embraced the
microsoft mindset

another thing that ASP proponents believe is that it's cool that they can
code little hooks into the operating system to make api calls or
whatever -- i don't really understand all that alphabet soup like COM and
ISAPI and OLE or whatever, all i know is that in ASP you have to open a
connection and write nothing into it to get it to close (which kind of
