Dynamic menu problemby "Web Master" <Webmaster(at)lchb.com> |
|
Hi all -- I am trying to update our site menu to go from a simple menu-with-rollovers= to a new version in DHTML or Javascript that will permit "child" submenus = to pop up off the standard 1-column vertical menu bar. I need to use = absolute positioning to keep the menu in place on the lefthand side of our = pages amidst several other elements. In addition, the menu must always be = apparent on the pages, though the child submenus need only open on = mouseover. When I do this using "HV Menu," a script I got from Dynamic Drive, it does = not work properly because the position of the menu changes when anyone = viewing the page re-sizes the browser window. (You are welcome to check = out my draft page for this at www.lieffcabraser.com/media_center.htm ; you = should see the menu "move" down the page if you make the browser window = full-sized). I'm certainly not asking anyone to vet the script itself (which is why I = am not including it here). I'm really just seeking (a) info from anyone = who may have encountered a similar problem in the past, and/or (b) = recommendations for a menu script that would permit child menus to pop up = on mouseover. (For what it's worth, I have tried scripts from several sources, and none = seem to work as I need them to; this includes the Hiermenus script from = Webreference.com, which does not seem to include a version for a static = menu that will always be on the page, and open up child submenus as the = mouse passes thereover).=20 Any help and info anyone can provide will, as usual, be greatly appreciated= . Thanks in advance for your time and attention. John
