I'm in agreement with the general consensus - Flash is useful for
special
situations (entertainment, presentations etc) but generally to be
avoided
on information based sites.
I did use it on a site where the client wanted a 'slide show', and
that
works OK:

Sorry - I'm afraid I cringed at these! I had to resist hitting the
Stop
button as they loaded (and I'm on a fast leased line), and found them
over-the-top and unintuitive to use.

I've yet to find an information site in pure Flash that I like, though
I
have see short Flash movies integrated into an HTML page work well on
some
recent student work that I hope to get online for them.
