We use Dreaweaver for some things...especially for initial layouts. One of
the reasons we adopted it is that we can directly edit the configuration
files. It now puts in the clsoing slash on emtpy elements (<.hr> as <.hr
/>), adds summary attributes to tables by default and it always did close
all tags, as well as giving me the option of using lowercase.

My point isn't that DW is great, but rather that it is adaptable and
configurable. Since I agree that tools fall behind as fast as they come out
the door, all my coding tools alllow direct editing of the libraries they
use to prodce the code.

I believe that the language development (XML,CSS,HTML - whatever we are
using in 5 more years) will have to slow down considerably for this to be
"realistic" (as in concept, not as in "tangible").

In my not so humble opinion that time is the current problem with (most)
canned editors *and* "organized" HTML and webmaster training programs
offered to the public.

Our languages have developed (metamorphosed) so quickly that by the time a
course - or editor - is developed and released, the language, or rules,
have changed.
