Chicago/Lead Web Developer

The Company:

Top notch, web/ecommerce development consultancy serving 
medium to very large businesses both in the USA and Europe, 
with a highly successful track record, and a young 
management team needs several full time, permanent employees 
for Lead Web Developer positions.

Lead Developers are people who can take on technical leadership 
of web development projects, mentor more junior staff, select 
architecture, tools, languages, interact effectively with clients learn 
constantly grow into full scale project management with total client 
responsibility.

Successful candidates will have most of the following 
characteristics:

* 2-5 years of hands on experience in cutting edge web 
technology 
* knowledge of database systems, including SQL, ER modeling, 
physical design 
* Oracle, Sybase, DB/2, the exact flavor is not important, 
* exposure to OOD concepts, with exposure to C/C++ 
* conversant with web front end design tools to deliver 
effective web pages 
* experience linking web front ends with back end databases 
* strong understanding of basic project methodologies, test 
planning/QA, version control 
* strong exposure to hardware setup, dial up and LAN 
connectivity 
* strong understanding of ecommerce software/concepts 
* powerful ability to self instruct, learn new tools and 
technologies quickly 
* good team worker, willing and able to mentor more junior 
staff 
* growing understanding of and respect for business issues 
and constraints 
* leap tall building with a single bound 
* alternately, find clever, safe ways to get around that 
building without getting hurt.
