To give everyone a breakdown of the results, Ray was kind enough to visit
the site url I sent him. He made a voice recording of the visit as he went
through some of the pages. It was very interesting to hear his comments
about the site, and what he was looking for. It was also interesting to
"Hear" his browser talk to him as he went through the pages.

He has given me permission to share with you what he found, and what he
said.

His main target was the form on the page. He went through the form looking
to see if the edit fields were clearly labeled. He told me most were
readible, but because of my layout of the fields, a couple of my fields were
confusing. I will change this layout. The browser reads the TEXT that
indicates what the field is for, then when it reaches the field it says
"edit", which indicates the field is there.
When he reached the submit button (which is an image), there was no alt text
there, and all the browser said was "button". This doesn't indicate what
the button is for.

I can't tell you how much this meant to me, for him to go through this site,
and then send me such an informative message. It was like being there with
him as he visited. We really take for granted that our sites are great just
because they are pretty or do fancy things.

Having Ray as a member of this list is a great asset to us, as he can open
our eyes to the things we are passing up as trivial, but to him are crucial.
Small things we pass up as unimportant to us, make a site unreadable to him
and others. I definately will be reviewing all of my other sites, to make
sure I have done all I can do the make them readable to all viewers.

Thank you Ray for taking the time to open my eyes.
And thank you to all who responded.

Nancy
