Hi Guy
I did a quick search on Tucows.com and came across a product called StarDotZip (<http://www.stardotzip.com>). It's shareware (1.6M) and can archive Windows 95/98, 2000, NT files in tar or gzip format. I archived some Java source files created on Win98 in tar format, emailed them to myself, extracted and opened them on my Linux (RedHat 6.1) system. I used my terminal emulator to extract the files using the <tar -xvf tarfile.tar> command and opened the files in emacs (a text editor). All worked fine. Should do the same on a UNIX system...
Hope this helps.
