RE: 500 Internal Server Error

Your comments are bit harsh, I feel.

If you are 'not a CGI  expert', as you so freely admit, then you should
expect the occasional error to occur.  The '500 Internal Server Error'
message could occur because of just about any error in your scripts, or the
way in which you handle them.

It seems rather irrational to ask the members of the list to 'boycott them
[the ISP] forever'.  In fact, the client should not be expected to pay for
shoddy workmanship that does nothing but spit out error messages.

In this situation, my priority would be to get my head down and debug the
script, rather that attempt to put the ISP out of business.
