We also test under Linux, although we just sold our Mac as it was getting
outdated...:). I've never thought or stated that the Web was only for
Windows...that'd be a pretty silly attitude...:)
I do agree that the proper way isn't always the supported way...that's
obvious. However, I was intending to point out the proper way, and not all
the possible hacks, in my note. The browsers I listed were intended to be
those that DID support the proper way. I also included one hack that works
well in many other partially-compliant browsers without violating XHTML
Strict validation. I can also, of course, add more hacks as we go backwards
in HTML versions.
We PC users also work hard at cross-compatibility...:).

Mac ie5.1 NS 6.2.2 aka 4.7.2 Opera 5 and iCab 2.7.1 So many browsers say
they use proper CSS2 code so few use most of it.. Mozilla yes on UNIX, but
I tried margin: auto; All the browsers you list are for Windows only
except Mozilla.
I only brought that up for one reason the web is not only Windows. Us Mac
web designers work hard at cross compatibility. I had to buy a PC (NT) and
also run Linux to make pages work for everyone.
That is all I am saying.
